DOUGHNUT
Hi readers, as always, I love to try something new, so I set off to make some doughnuts for the weekend and it was so delicious, we all loved it. Below is my recipe.
2. Add dried yeast and mix thoroughly.
3. Add Sugar, salt, egg and melted butter to the mixture and continue to mix.
4. Add flour and mix with hands until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
5. Cover though with a clean film and leave to rise in a very warm place for 45 minutes to an hour.
6. Bring out the dough afterwards and roll well on a clean surface with the aid of a rolling pin.
7. Use a round tin/container or whatever you are comfortable to use to make round shapes on the rolled dough. See pictures below.
8. Use a small rounded shaped object to make a small hole in the cut out shapes in number 7, See picture below.
9. Place cut out shapes nicely in trays, cover with cling film and leave for a while in a warm Place, while you get the oil ready for frying.
10. For frying, place a pan of oil on medium heat on a cooker and leave to get hot.
11. Fry doughnuts in batches on medium heat.
What you need
- 300 grammes of flour
- One large egg
- 2 spoons of butter
- 3 tablespoon of Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- Sunflower/vegetable/olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of dried yeast
- 100 ml of milk
